Wave type The sand bar at the N.end has by far the best wave A long right holding swells up to 8 foot.
Safety Factors

Few Rips. Lengthy Paddle. Lifeguards (summer)

Tides and Swell 1 hour after low is best for the N. peak but breaks at all stages.Catches less swell than Freshwater West but the most for this side of the Haven. Requires small to moderate sea conditions.
Wind An Easterly is Offshore but shelter from a Northerly can be found under the cliffs at low tide.
Parking Free .At high tide the car park on the coastal road overlooks some good waves
Facilities Beach cafe and surf Shop (see photo).Camping within walking distance.
