Aberavon Beach

Aberavon's high tide peak at the east end of the bay was once heralded as the best left hander in South Wales. At high tide however there is only one way out - up the slip. Miss this narrow gap and the only option is to take the rip out and start again. Despite this, the left is still a fast wall starting in a sucky peak and it is often the best place on a south easterly. To avoid problems with the rocks at high tide, its best surfed on the outgoing tide. Leave no valuables in your car.
